This is the World of Data!
World of Data is regarded as the definitive event for BI visionaries, data experts and software manufacturers. It offers stimulating lectures by experts, case studies by renowned clients, innovative short talks and established exhibitors, all of whom deal with the topics of big data, business intelligence, IoT & cloud, data science, AI & data visualization as well as customer intelligence. The world has become more digital, faster and more agile, with smart business models determining our everyday lives. Furthermore, real-time interaction, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things are no longer far-off science fiction. This fast pace and growing diversity of topics presents us with a wide variety of challenges every day, this being exactly what World of Data unites and reduces to a common denominator at the event.
This year, the ultimate data and analytics event - World of Data - will additionally take place for the first time in Switzerland on 19th September 2023. Following its successful commencement in July 2014, the Munich event series has been held every two years (next date: 6th June 2024). Due to the ever-growing market in Switzerland and establishment of b.telligent's second location there, we would now like to cordially invite you to Pratteln (near Basel). We look forward to welcoming you at World of Data – now also in Switzerland. Use this unique day to share experiences, learn about best practices and jointly advance digitization at our enterprises.

Succeed in data management, through the practical requirements of Data Mesh!
As IT-side Head of Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse and Enterprise Content Management, Christoph Müller was previously responsible for the pension fund and life insurance applications at Baloise. IT and data have long been his passion, which is why he studied business informatics. On September 19, he will give us a deep insight into the topics of data mesh and data management at the WoD. While databases are already the end of the line for many managers, he will show us how data management can mature, what Data Mesh has to do with it and what practical prerequisites companies need for successful data management. We are already very excited and looking forward to it!

The World of Data Keynotes 2023

Dominique Gisin
A True Athlete
Dominique Gisin was one of the world's top alpine ski racers from 2007 to 2015. She became Olympic champion in the supreme discipline of downhill at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi at the same time as Slovenia's Tina Maze. This very special and highly emotional victory has deeply touched and inspired many people around the world, because Dominique achieved it after overcoming an almost unprecedented history of injuries (including 9 knee operations), coupled with many setbacks. Dominique Gisin was born into a sports-mad family in 1985. Her two younger siblings, Michelle and Marc, have also been successfully skiing in the Alpine World Cup for many years. Dominique graduated from the sports school in Engelberg in 2004 with the Matura and is a passionate pilot in possession of the professional pilot license. After retiring from top-level sports in 2015, she began studying at ETH Zurich, where she graduated with a master's degree in physics. Dominique Gisin calls the Swiss mountains her home.
Philipp Schmid - CSEM
The rising tide of technology - leaving the comfort zone
The hype is over, implementation is coming at companies with breathtaking speed. AI is becoming more and more prevalent in everyday life: Translation programs, funny photo filters on cell phones or driving assistance in cars. Now the big breakthrough is about to happen in the manufacturing industry. Perfect quality and ever higher efficiency are driving Swiss companies. Many companies have started to store data from machines and test equipment. Often locally on different computers in different formats and tables. Falling prices and the ease of use of IoT gateways make it possible to connect to the cloud. Data no longer lingers in distributed silos, but is aggregated along entire value chains and across sites. But what now? How can I gain a real competitive advantage from the data without simply accumulating a gigantic mountain of data waste? With new concepts such as predictive quality, holistic solutions are available that also bring direct value. But despite a decade of artificial neural network hype, little has effectively reached the industry. In his presentation, Philipp Schmid analyzes where the technology stands today, he points out stumbling blocks and uses concrete examples to show the enormous potential of AI in industry.
